You know what else I like about October travels? It's my bday!! AND our anniversary. So there has always been lots of surprises this month. It makes me a little anxious, to tell you the truth. But in a good way.
For our 15th anniversary, my sweet hubby planned a trip aboard the American Queen. It was an overnight paddle boat that went up the Mississippi, Ohio, and Cumberland rivers. We met while we were working on the Mississippi Queen, a sister boat, so he wanted to take us down memory lane, but sadly, the MQ wasn't running anymore so we were off to the AQ. Now Rick is pretty brilliant in that he had me fooled the entire time and I didn't suspect a thing! I said he likes to surprise me, right?

We had dear friends as company at our house that week, which probably helped me not to notice anything unusual, as we were busy with them. So the morning we are to leave for the AQ trip (that I knew nothing about), we were supposed to take our friends to the airport and then off to a business meeting so I am dressed in heels, skirt, the whole thing! When we arrived at the airport, he parked instead of just dropping off our guests, so now, I knew something was up....when I asked him why we were parking he just smiled and out comes the suitcase! Well, long story short, he had it all planned, our oldest daughter who was 13 packed for me, and did a GREAT job! I was a bit surprised but I had everything I needed and more. He had thought of everything, he usually does. :)
